Before the release of the iPhone 3G, AT&T made quite a bit of noise about upgrading its network. It's apparent that it was never done or done haphazardly. I do both on my phone, make calls and use it for texting, browsing, etc. The number of dropped calls, areas with signal where I can't make calls, etc. is absolutely ridiculous.
