I am a web technologist and marketer with a history designing, developing, and marketing a wide array of successful online products for major brands.
At About.com, I helped to design one of the first contextual pay-per-click advertising services, which was purchased (along with my patent application) by Google in late 2003.
At JetBlue Airways, I managed day-to-day operation of the jetblue.com website responsible for more than $2 billion in annual revenue. My duties included product development, managing partnerships with major travel brands including Expedia, Hertz, and NLG, managing the production team and creating the first social media strategies for JetBlue, including creating the @JetBlue Twitter with Morgan Johnston in mid 2007.
At MTV Networks, I managed product development, interface design, and client integration of content-based Flux social media platform used by than 30 major MTV Networks and Viacom brands including CMT, Logo, Comedy Central, The Daily Show and Colbert Report.
I led the team who put on the first Social Media for Social Change event in New York City in 2009, and had the vision for and led the team that put on the first SocialChangeCamp in New York City in September 2009. I’ve been a session leader at BarCampNYC, BarCampPhilly and am an active part of the New York City technology community.
Currently, I am the Director of Emerging and Social Media Strategy at CafeMom and teach Social Media and Information Architecture at NYU’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies.
